art-making through repositioning the gaze upon a small blue world
Interchanging between micro and macro lenses excitingly shifts our awareness of where and how we are observing nature and the universe.
Investigating and recording our small blue world and where it sits in the greater universe is fascinating to me. Whether above surfaces or cross-sectioning through and below Earth's crust, I strive to capture in my work moments where different states of energy meet and how these measures of time applique deep time's presence in all things. Interchanging our lens may keep present the scale of what is at stake. Remembering to reposition our gaze upon our small blue world I believe is a step closer to acknowledging and valuing our rare and unique connection to such a planet. Finding similar visual signatures across time and space where energy states from different, less habitable, worlds have left their familiar traces are prescient reminders. |
